What we offer international families

Prenatal pediatric visit

A 60-minute consultation during pregnancy (ideally 28–34 weeks) to meet your baby’s pediatrician, discuss the birth plan, first hour, breastfeeding and newborn screening in Brazil.

Delivery-room care

Dr. Patty attends births at São Paulo’s main private maternity hospitals (São Luiz Star, Pró-Matre/Santa Joana, Santa Maria, Sepaco) and visits the baby daily until discharge.

Newborn & well-child visits

First visit between day 3 and 5, then a follow-up schedule aligned with Brazilian (SBP) and international (AAP/WHO) recommendations, including the Brazilian vaccine calendar explained in English.

Breastfeeding support

A lactation nurse consultant and a pediatric speech-language pathologist (latch, tongue-tie, sucking) work in the same clinic — no separate address to find.

Other specialties on site: maternal-child nutrition, pediatric physiotherapy and pediatric speech therapy. These team members consult in Portuguese; Dr. Patty coordinates care and translates the plan when needed.

How it works

  • Language: Dr. Patty consults in English. Written guidance after the visit is provided in English on request. Spanish and French: basic communication is possible; for complex topics we use real-time translation tools.
  • Format: in person at Rua Borges Lagoa, 971 – suite 84, Vila Clementino (Hospital São Paulo metro station, lilac line 5, ~100 m) or online video visits for families anywhere in Brazil or abroad.
  • Fees & insurance: private practice. We issue an itemized receipt (nota fiscal) with all the details international and Brazilian insurers require for reimbursement. Fees depend on the visit type and are sent by WhatsApp when you book.
  • Records: bring your child’s vaccination record and any previous reports; we reconcile foreign vaccine schedules with the Brazilian calendar (public and private options).
  • Hours: Monday–Friday 8 am–7 pm, Saturday 8 am–1 pm (Brasília time).

Moving to São Paulo with a baby or expecting one?

Three things families usually ask us first: which maternity hospital to choose, how newborn screening (the ‘teste do pezinho’ and the other four screenings) works here, and how the Brazilian vaccine calendar compares with the one at home. The prenatal pediatric visit answers all three, and you leave with a plan for the first weeks. If you are already here with a newborn, book the first visit for day 3 to 5 of life — it is the visit where jaundice, feeding and weight are checked.
